Hayes & Y are an electronic indie rock band based in Manchester and anyone who knows anything about the UK music scene knows that Manchester demands a certain level of quality where music is concerned…
Where Hayes & Y are concerned, quality most definitely comes as standard.
The component pieces that make up this eclectic quartet are the band’s frontman Blagoslav Anastasov, bassist Ivailo Delev, drummer Dennis Hallbäck and guitarist Radoslav Lozanski. Blago, Ivo and Rado have been friends and bandmates since High School, drummer Dennis taking up his role as the band’s beating heart later.
With three EP’s to their name already and a new single, All Pressure/No Pleasure hot off the press. Their recent successes include gracing Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist, 13th spot on their viral chart, supporting Kasabian and recognition from the BBC, that meteoric rise is set to reach new heights with their latest single.
Where Hayes & Y might have been this festival season, had the world’s festivals actually happened is anyone’s guess because they write and perform the kind of eighties inspired synth, sweeping electronic textures and perfectly delivered vocals that festivals are made for.

That’s simply because they make the sort of music that it’s impossible not to love, whether you are commuting to work, relaxing on a balearic beach or having the time of your life in a festival tent, it’s a rare gift but one that the Manchester based band have…
Blago, the lead singer is happy to reveal that he rarely writes lyrics with intention, preferring to channel any chain of thought that comes to him and naturally discovering where that might lead. He also states that a shared love of music is the band’s collective inspiration with the hard work being the time it takes to reach the standards where you can perfect your craft and make a living from results.

On the basis of the band’s new single, that hard work and inspiration has certainly been worthwhile because the results are something approaching flawless.
The boys from Manchester have won the right to perform at Eurosonic Norderslag in the Netherlands in January 2021.
